The only downside to cooking salmon in the air fryer is that you can only cook two salmon filets at a time (at least in my air fryer, yours may vary). Otherwise, it’s really a hands-off recipe once you add the spices on top (and by the way, they don’t require any measuring or preparation either, you can just eyeball it). So overall, this is an incredibly easy recipe that is on repeat in my kitchen!

 SERVINGS: 4 servings

 COURSE: dinner

 CUISINE: american

Ingredients

  1. Salmon: Choose your favorite type of salmon – king, coho, or sockeye. You could also use steelhead trout! And keep reading for tips on fresh versus frozen salmon.
  2. Dijon Mustard: The mustard keeps the top moist and adds that special oomph in flavor. You could also use stone ground mustard for added texture!
  3. Spices: I’m using a blend of sweet paprika (though you could also use smoked paprika), garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • 2 4-6 oz salmon fillets
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup greek yogurt
  • 1, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • olive oil spray

Instructions

  • Wash and dry your salmon fillets (with paper towels). Slice the lemon and cover the air fryer basket with it (where the salmon will go)
  • On each salmon filet, spread one teaspoon of mustard evenly in a thin layer.
  •  Sprinkle each of the individual spices straight onto the salmon filet. It doesn’t have to be an exact measurement. I start with salt and pepper, then coat generously with garlic powder and paprika. Finish with a quick spray of olive oil on top to keep the salmon filet moist.
  • Add salt and pepper to the salmon fillet. Place fillets on top of lemons and cook for about 10 to 15 minutes at 330 degrees.
  • Meanwhile make the sauce. Mix yogurt with dill and garlic powder. Add lemon juice and salt and pepper if needed.
  • Once the salmon is done, cover it with sauce and serve.

Notes

  • Use lemon slices or oil cooking spray on the air fryer basket to prevent sticking.
  • Don’t overcook the fish. Stick to the cooking time otherwise it will be dry.
  • Choose wild caught salmon over farmed salmon fillets if possible.
