A Basket Egg

Eggs can be baked or fried and then packed into avocados to create egg baskets. This simple egg-in-a-basket recipe is the perfect keto breakfast because it is low in carbohydrates and high in healthy fats and proteins!

Ingredients

  • 4 avocados, cut in half and pitted
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 1 tsp clove powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce, such as Tabasco
  • 8 eggs

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven at 400°F and cover a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Place the avocados halved on the sheet pan, and add salt the onion powder, garlic powder, hot sauce. Par-bake for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove the avocados baked in paraffin from the oven and break an egg inside each half. Cook for between 12 and 15 minutes to get firm whites and medium cooked yolks, or for longer to get yolks that have firm.
