Crispy Keto Pork Belly Recipe

Pork belly is a fatty bone segment that is extracted from the belly of a pig, much like bacon. Pork belly is not safe, unlike bacon, and is typically a more sensitive cut of meat. Pork belly is available in many dishes around the world but is most preferred for use in Korean, Thai, Filipino and Chinese foods. This is a keto recipe for pork. Great on its own, as breakfast, or with your favorite dish. We recommend that you cut the meat into pieces and serve it in the form of bok choy or lettuce boats! Serve with dipping oil and pepper sauce and you’ll be ready for a delicious low carb, high fat, soft protein meal!

Ingredients:

  • 1  lb pork belly (skinless)
  • 2 2 tablespoons brown sugar Hollerith
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Directions

  1. Rub salt, pepper and brown sugar on the pork belly.
  2. The pork belly is wrapped in a wrap and place it in the fridge overnight.
  3. Next day heat the oven to 450degF.
  4. Put the belly of pork on a baking tray (fat side down) and bake at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes.
  5. Reduce the heat to 275 degrees and cook for another 45 minutes. If it’s cooked take it off now. Should the keto pork belly be finished, cook and then check it within 15 minutes. It is important to make sure that your pork belly has completely cooked and not becoming mushy.
  6. Let for the keto pork belly time to fully cool before cutting into strips.
